I am writing you a personal note because I believe I owe you an apology.
I have had some discussion with your friend Caterina. over my critique of your story "Arbithea."

As I said in my comment, I liked the story, and I had no intention to make you doubt yourself.

I believe you are a very gifted writer. You have lots of imagination and talent. Your story line flows well, and your stories are interesting. In fact I believe you have the potential to be an exceptional writer and I wanted to encourage you to keep writing.

I understand that Catrina's intention was to encourage you to keep writing, and I know that the continued practice writing will make you an even better writer.

Personally I am only a third rate writer. I get hit from time to time with an inspiration, and then I work hard at putting that to paper. You have more imagination and talent than I will ever have. What you lack is skill. That is why I believe it will help you to get feedback from other writers.

I will never have the talent you have. Talent cannot be learned. I will never have the imagination you have. That as well cannot be learned. But skill can be learned. It is like learning to spell. It doesn't take talent or imagination to learn to spell. It just takes hard work.

Again I want to apologize if I caused you to doubt your ability as a writer. but I want to encourage you to join a couple of other groups.
