I'm still looking through the uploaded short stories to see that all's well this time, but my new book is coming along well. Stories about childhood, stories that will hopefully remind readers of what it was like to be a kid. And if you still are a kid, I hope I managed to capture what you feel (sometimes).

Writing additional stories for a children's short story collection is progressing slowly, but surely. Have even found a subject for my book cover, so pleased about that.

Publishing a new collection of stort stories has given me the appetite to do more. I'm currently looking through the children's short stories I have written for competitions over recent years and am revising them to get them ready for publication. Not sure about the book title yet.

The revised edition of Linus & The Leprechauns is taking a little longer than anticipated. Meanwhile, I have managed to get a new collection of short stories out. "Ungodly Critters" is now for sale.

The re-write of Linus & the Leprechauns is progressing nicely, despite work commitments and lovely, very tempting weather. Trying to make it funnier and deeper isn't easy. Fingers crossed, I shall succeed.

I'm currently working on a revised version of Linus & The Leprechauns, as it was only long enough for an ebook, but not sufficient for a children's book print edition. I'm hoping to have the much-improved story ready in another month, if Bookrix will let me update the current version. I'd used an old story idea to write a short story for a competition and later turned this into a short ebook, but the brilliant cover an illustrator friend did for me demands that I give it full justice with a far better, full-length story. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Have just updated by Ungodly Creatures short story anthology with a new tale. Am finishing off several others to make it a nice round ten stories for the full anthology, which will then go on sale. The uploaded story, still available for free at present, is a satire by the way, just to warn the eternally humourless. And I should also warn boys: reading it might give you nightmares for years to come...

What I really wanted to say, instead of ranting about my anger that my profile page is apparently being manipulated is that if any of you are wrting a novel set in Victorian times you could do worse thanconsult a wonderful book I discovered in the library today. "Pleasures and Pastimes in Victorian Britain" by Palema Horn is hugely informative and will allow you to add the odd little historical touches to your novel that are guaranteed to draw the reader in and give your story an authentic period feel.

The book is published by Amberley Publishing (Amberley Books) and brimming with photographs, historic cartoons and drawings about anything Victorians might have got up to, from fashion plates to playing cricket, from seaside holidays to concerns over women's health problems caused by the era's mad fashion. Great stuff.

Yet again I find that one of my entries is missing from my Bookrix Profile! My entry about my latest promotion results is nowhere to be found. Presumably deleted by Bookrix. Instead of policing my profile, perhaps Bookrix could start policing membership...which was supposed to be for people aged 18+, yet this site is full to bursting point with teenagers below that age, as can be seen by the girl who left her personal email address on my site, never a very clever thing to do.

For those with blogging and article writing experiences signing up to http://www.outsourcely.com might be of interest. I've seen some great jobs advertised there, paying around $700 - $800 per month for around 25 articles per week. If you live in the UK or Germany for example, this amount would still fall within your yearly tax free allowance and would make for a great holiday/rainy-day fund. Beware though of any potential"employer" who asks for FREE sample articles. All your work must be paid for, they don't provide their work for free to anyone either. It's unfortunately a well-known ruse crooked marketing companies employ to collect a great number of articles for free, which they then sell to their clients, making a tidy profit in the process. IF anyone asks for sample articles to be written to their specifications, they must PREPAY them by credit card or via PayPal.
