We do it by hard copy [some people are able to use a computer program but we prefer paper and pencil and coloring agents. We use colored pencils, pens, markers, colored chalk and charcoal.]

This is a darling story about a serious problem. I love the dogs and the story is terrific. It's too complicated with the words for kids but it is excellent for adults. You might check it with an early childhood expert but the story would be great for 6 to 10 year olds. This is a great story.
I found the 'paint' program and used the eraser and the text....told my son to leave the text off his pix but write it on a separate piece of paper because I like his take on what he chooses to illustrate.

Thanks for sharing your work with me. I like the illustrations. The fact that you tackle a hard subject shows how strongly you feel about the disease. I applaud your courage.
Children do need to understand that people are different. It's my opinion that young children couldn't grasp all the ideas you present in the book. Children below the age of seven usually can't think abstractly. Perhaps, the book is for older children.... Show more
Yes, the series is aimed at the 7-12 year old who seem to have a peculiar sense of the absurdity of situations. Of course on here my readers are teen age and up....The Chen An Yo Pale! that is in the Haiti contest is a bit more serious.....Paula
The spelling that is incorrect is part of the dialect of Shadow. He drops his 'g' and shortens some of his words - a real New Yorker - at least I hope that is what my spelling scores are about - I off for a re read...Paula
I liked it a lot, although I found the printing hard to read. I would have printed the words on the computer and had them underneath and used a few more pages. It is easy to scan in and paste on a page. It's a cross between a story board and a picture book. Way cool.

I love the drawings and the conversation between the characters. It's a cute story and an enjoyable read. This tale helps children understand the disease in an entertaining way. Good luck and best wishes.
