Der Autor Hans-Georg Kaethner hat sein erstes schon 1966 verlegtes Reiseabenteuerbuch "Harem Hindu Heiland " - später auch als E-Book "Von Berlin nach Bombay" veröffentlicht - gründlich überarbeitet und bringt es aus aktuellem, sehr wichtigem Grund wieder heraus. Er und seine Reisegefährten erlebten besonders in den heutzutage so schwer heimgesuchten Ländern Syrien und Irak eine derart einmalige Gastfreundschaft, wie sie für normale Mitteleuropäer unvorstellbar ist. Umso mehr beschämt es ihn, dass von Krieg und bedrohlicher Verfolgung traumatisierten Flüchtlingen in Europa allzu oft unverhüllte Abneigung entgegenschlägt, die selbst vor krimineller Aggression nicht zurückschreckt. Im Zeitalter des Tourismus, wo selbst der entfernteste Winkel des Globus und ausgefallene Expeditionen von sogenannten Reiseexperten bis auf drei Stellen hinter dem Komma verorganisiert werden, bleibt der aussterbenden Spezies Globetrotter nur die resignierende Flucht in nostalgische Rückerinnerungen. Genau in diese Zeit, als das echte Abenteuer schon in Jugoslawien begann und sich verschwindend wenige Wagemutige, die sich bis in den orientalischen Iran gewagt hatten, in Teheran noch per Handschlag begrüßen konnten, will die packende Schilderung einer 6-monatigen Reise von Berlin nach Bombay entführen. Drei junge Leute, zwei Deutsche und eine Italienerin, die der pure Zufall zusammengeführt hat, wollen den legendären Landweg nach Indien mit einem VW Bus bezwingen. Für derartige „Reisestudenten“ mit viel Unternehmungsgeist, aber wenig Kleingeld, war Selbstbestätigung wichtiger als das eigentliche Ziel. Das Bewusstsein, ein großes Abenteuer erfolgreich gemeistert zu haben und dem Mysterium des Unbekannten unerschrocken ins Auge geblickt zu haben, ist für sie die Herausforderung schlechthin. [more]
