Thank you for your observations. All of the material in ECHOES of SLAVERY is completely original first person narratives with the minor exception of a few comments/clarifications from the author (me).

In retrospect, I probably should have made the LEGENDS (which follow the introductory segment A NOTE ON THE LANGUAGE OF THE NARRATIVES) comment more obvious for the casual reader.

The LEGENDS segment explains all about the original narratives by slaves and the commentary by the interviewers. It also states the following:
"Singular words or phrases displayed in brackets, [sic] or [secessionists], for example, represent clarifications or observations by the author (me)."

Thank you, my interest in dialect's come from where I live, which is in the south west of England where most of the pirate came from. Now I must ask! you put your book up to be read free by friends, but still had a copy on sale, may I ask how you did that Henry.

I sent a question to BookRix "Contact" regarding how to add a free copy to my book list. Here is their reply:

You can simply create a second, completely new book and make it available for free on BookRix only. However, you should not make it free to read for all users, since this would lead potential readers to the question, why they should buy it elsewhere, when it is free on BookRix. Hence, please consider making it available for friends only.

I should also mention that BookRix was very helpful, as always.

Thank you, I had already done that with my true stories but renamed the copy as I didn't think you could have duplicates so if you see a story of mine you want there is a free one there if you look. Henry
