Secret societies in fact mirror many facets of ordinary life. There is always an exclusivity of membership, with the resultant importance attached to being or becoming a member. This is found in all human endeavors, even those which are not secret, such as football teams or country clubs. The first novel entitled ‘Altered Perceptions’ is the first part of a Trilogy featuring. Andy McPhee and Team Seven, of the SIS Black Door Operations. SIS (Secret Intelligence Service) do exist, as do Black Door Ops. What goes on at CDE (Chemical Defence Establishment) Porton Down, is part factual and part fiction. Although this story is fiction, or you could say factional. The Enriched Uranium and Plutonium did go missing from FBR (Fast Breeder Reactor) Dounreay. The Secret Royal Navy program, the Vulcan Project, did take place between the RN (Royal Navy) and Rolls Royce. There were two major accidents at FBR Dounreay, and they were covered up. There still, to this day, remains two miles of off-limit shoreline. Where pieces of Plutonium are being found, on the beach near Dounreay. Much of what happened in this first book, did happen in real life. Some is of course pure fiction. Real names have been changed. Many of the places exist. Gruinard Island was used by the British Government, to test out bacteriological and viral spores of anthrax. The island remained uninhabitable for almost 50 years. The UK has signed up to the Geneva Convention, that bans the use of chemical and biological warfare. Yet it continues to make these banned items. The UK is not alone in this. The USA, France, Belgium, Germany along with many countries in the west. Yet we first world countries, condemn the third world countries, who try to make them. Stanley witnessed the death of his family by hiding underneath a table, not being noticed. 13 years later detective Frank Colton and Officer Michael Sharp investigate files of previous convicts and one young hitman, never to be caught or ever convicted, to help them on their mission to capture and kill Paul Leonard with the help of Judge Roberts. Frank realizes that Stanley is the one who’s never been caught and tries to trace him up. With the significant help Officer Michael Sharp, Frank Colton finds out about Stanley Colton’s whereabouts. The two other convicts are already found and they await Stan’s approval. Detective Colton approaches Stan without telling him that they are family. Stanley’s attitude and heavy metal appearance shows that he has another life going. He continually disapproves stating “there were some things in life I chose to put behind me.” Tracey, Stanley’s on and off girlfriend, who’s aware of his hitman and tough skills, encourages him to participate as she tells him that there’s nothing wrong in receiving a little help. The latent desires, dreams, restlessness and helplessness of the characters find an adroit expression in this novel.More than 25 blustery, shivering years, the Indian and Pakistani armies have been fighting a "No-Win" battle on the 20,000-foot-high Siachen Glacier, the world's highest war-ground. On average, one Pakistani soldier is killed every fourth day, while one Indian soldier is killed every other day. Over 1,300 Pakistani soldiers have died on Siachen between 1984 and 1999. According to Indian estimates, this operation had cost India over Rs. 50 billion and almost 2,000 personnel casualties till 1997. Almost all of the casualties on both sides have been due to extreme weather conditions. In spite of this,The word `Siachen` ironically means the place of wild roses. Arduous to live in, the Siachen area is beautiful to look at from the cockpit.
