Auch Steve, der mit seiner Schwester und deren Familie in diese Gemeinschaft kommt, ist ein Kämpfer, der für seine Liebsten alles tun würde. Doch im Gegensatz zu Timothy ist Steve ein Gefühlsmensch, der zeigt, wie es in ihm aussieht. Timothy, der während der ersten Tage der Apokalypse seine Frau verloren hat, entwickelt Gefühle für den jungen Steve, die ihn gehörig durcheinander bringen, bis heute dachte er immer, er sei hetero. Ein zartes Band entsteht zwischen den ungleichen Männern. Doch die Umstände führen ihnen die Hoffnungslosigeit schnell vor Augen. Kann ihre Liebe den Wahnsinn überstehen, der um sie herum herrscht oder wird sie schon im Keim erstickt, ohne die Chance zu bekommen, richtig zu erblühen? PS: Es handelt sich hier um keine "typische" Zombiegeschichte. Sie sind hier ein benötigter Bestandteil der Geschichte, aber die Lovestory ist ebenso wichtig, wenn nicht gar wichtiger.
