Yes, society is evolving, or progressing, despite the best efforts of
conservatives. It is no longer socially acceptable to oppose interracial
marriage or segregation. It is no longer socially acceptable to demean gay and
transgendered people. It's becoming less socially acceptable to believe in
antiquated superstitions. Patriarchy is becoming less socially acceptable.
Bigotry and xenophobia are becoming less socially acceptable. And now,
hopefully, owning an AR15 and driving around with an NRA sticker is becoming
less socially acceptable.

I hear a lot of conservatives longing for a return to the 1950's. They see the
world descending into chaos and evil all around them. But as Steven Pinker
points out in Enlightenment Now, people are living longer, healthier, freer,
and happier lives. Maybe conservatives are simply wrong on these particular
issues, and it's time for them to wake up and realize it.

Trump is doing a great job. USA should definitely renegotiate its trade deals,
but before we launch negotiations, partners should actually fear us, so we
start with the most leverage. By throwing a wrench into global thinking with
these minor steel tarriffs, Trump accomplishes this.

We tax German cars 2.5% when they come into the US. Germany taxes US cars 10%
when they go into Germany. Totally unfair and no wonder you don't see any US
cars in Germany.

China bans Facebook, Google, the Times, parts of Apple's services, and
unfairly fines our chip companies like Qualcomm and steals our IP. Yet we let
China export goods to us unrestrained.

Time for change. Glad Trump is in charge.

If those who voted for, still support and otherwise excuse the abominable,
deplorable behavior of Donald Trump are not themselves deplorable, then
America really has lost its moral compass. I, for one, am sick and tired of
being lectured for feeling disgust for my fellow Americans who call themselves
Trumpians. If they represent anything but the worst in this nation, I don't
have a clue what that quality might be. Those such as Limbaugh, Hannity, Fox
News, McConnell and all of Trump's enablers and defenders ought to be
thoroughly ashamed of themselves and what the monster they have let loose on
this nation and the world.But you know what, they can't feel a nanosecond of
shame because like Trump, shame, honor and decency appear to have deserted
them completely. All they have is their enduring anger and lack of genuine
self-respect. Hillary was right: they truly are a basket of deplorables. And
it's about time that all of us who have the courage to speak out say so and
give those words meaning by supporting candidates who publicly call for
Trump's impeachment.

These are dark and ominous times. The linkages between the Republican Party,
the evangelical church, the NRA, white suprematists, Fox News and other
conservative propaganda outlets and Putin’s Russia is simply frightening. We
have mike Pence and mike Pompeo both ardent evangelicals and followers in the
new Museum of the Bible along with military generals steeped in right wing
Christianity working to direct the government. And we are seeing the rise of
antisemitism. Are we heading into the 1920s?
Also I am concerned about Jill stein’s connections to Russia. This pops up
every so often in news article but I have not seen it covered completely.
There is something very fishy here.

But the Japanese sell right-hand drive cars here. I have driven only Japanese
cars for most of my life. They are worth the money.
