I do not remember a Judy or a Dave, but what you are saying sounds like a good plan. I've been writing for years, currently taking a break to take care of my family, but still find time here and there to get a few words in a story and such.
What about you? How long have you been writing? And self publishing is not all that bad, you just have to advertise everything yourself. Although createspace is usually good and bookrix of course.

I don't hang around Bookrix much anymore, but I still have writer friends here. I've been writing for a few years, have one "almost" completed/edited novel, and 3 others that need editing. I've found (strangely enough) a very supportive community on Twitter, and that's usually where I haunt nowadays. But I pop in here every so often.
