The book you are about to read is a collection of deep and controversial texts. They all deal with the strange phenomenon called absurdity. Life is not about logics following reasonable ways. It rather has absurd faces – at least our perception tells us that story, and we have no difficulties to follow. Although we struggle: life is absurd? Really? Is there not a divine plan? Isn´t absurdity a sign of the absense of the divine? A sign of the devil? A satanic agenda? This is the reason I put those texts together giving readers an easy access to material other thinkers share with us, for both, experience and perception of the absurd has moved humans at all times. The absurd is indeed an important topic in human´s life experience. There is no real answer on the “why” of absurdity, if we are honest we do not know much about it. But we can read what humans have written and thought. That means listening to the voices of our ancestors: they often suffered from absurdity in life too. And by sharing their experiences in books and written witnesses they hoped their children had a better insight and perception – and finally hope. So go and read and look how your inner feelings and perceptions are affected, how some will get clear and some will fade away. You must give yourself time to “digest” what you have read. This book is made up of a series of articles originally published in the Freeman. It was compiled to establish one point and only one, namely: that the German Government was not solely guilty of bringing on the war. I have not been at all concerned with measuring the German Government's share of guilt, with trying to show that it was either great or small, or that it was either less or more than that of any other Government or association of Governments. All this is beside the point. I do not by any means wish to escape the responsibility of saying that I think the German Government's share of guilt in the matter is extremely small; so small by comparison with that of the major Powers allied against Germany, as to be inconsiderable. That is my belief, demonstrable as I think by such evidence as has now become available to any candid person. But this has nothing whatever to do with the subject-matter of this volume. If the guilt of the German Government could be proved to be ten times greater than it was represented to be by the publicity-bureaux of the Allied Powers, the conclusion established in the following chapters would still remain. Guilty as the German Government may have been; multiply by ten any estimate that any person, interested or disinterested, informed or uninformed, may put upon its guilt; the fact remains that it was far, very far indeed, from being the only guilty party concerned. The author of this e-book is an engineer and physicist who specialized in space technologies. After a few years at the European Space Agency, he occupied for some 30 years the position of director of studies in a Paris-based industrial think tank. He is the father of ten children. After his retirement, he endeavored to obtain a degree in theology in an academic institution frequented by numerous seminarians and members of religious orders. He was appalled by what he discovered there. It has been said that in the Bible everything can be put in doubt with the exception of the footnotes. This is exactly what he found out. Where he had expected to receive an in-depth intellectual introduction to theological matters, he found himself subjected to a sort of brain washing aiming at replacing all what he had learned in his childhood and in a lifetime as a practicing catholic by the most futile modern fantasies and in particular by the imaginations of the theory of evolution. Evolution is for our time what Arianism was in the first centuries: the major heresy. It is even more than an heresy, an anti-theology which attributes to materialistic processes what used to be and should always be attributed to God's power and love. Nevertheless a large crowd of theologians, exegetes, professors and bishops adhere to this theory with an enthusiasm that they justify by claiming that science has proven its adequation to reality without any doubt. Evolution is more than a theory, they claim, this is the consensus of the scientists and it would be a sin against truth not to admit it. Refusing to accept that, the author decided to inquire about the scientific foundations of evolution. He quickly discovered that not only were such foundations most unconvincing, but that several of the most vocal defenders of the theory candidly admitted the patent absurdity of some of its constructs (Richard Lewontin) and that their aim was purely ideological or rather anti-religious. The results of his work were published in two books : “La terrible Responsabilité de l'exégèse moderne dans la crise de l'Église” (Edilivre, Paris, 2015) and “Modern Exegesis, the Theory of Evolution and the Decline of Catholicism in the West” (2016, Available on Amazon). A group of pseudo scientists assemble to devise a revolutionary experiment that could change the concept of creation and evolution of species. The experiment would create the bases of a sudden transformation of a dog into a man. The scientists discuss issues that may concern such transformation from a dog into a man such as feeding, sex habits, and bathroom routines. Freud, Darwin and God are cited copiously to support such a sudden metamorphosis. At the end of the convention the scientists are preparing manuals to be used by people that would like to transform their dog into a man. Bruce and Estelle, the owners of a German shepherd dog, named Rex are some of the dog masters that receive those manuals by mail. They find out that Rex’s dream is in fact to become a superman. Bruce and Estelle transform their backyard into a classroom; the table is full of books ready for reading and two posters depicting a dog male and a dog female anatomy on the back wall. They begin teaching Rex elementary things such as vocabulary, numbers, sexual behavior and manly attitude towards women. Estelle especially spends time showing Rex her body, letting him touch her breasts, and all. Bruce and Estelle also discuss other topics such as the history of humanity, time, religion, sins, and facts of life. What started as a routine class following the “scientific” manuals becomes slowly a hodge-podge of useful teaching coupled with “information waste”. Estelle talks of a possibility to see one day her mom pass by and find out that Rex is not anymore a dog. At that stage Rex has enough knowledge to stop listening to his two tutors and become involved in expressing original ideas and also declare openly his love for Estelle, which infuriates Bruce. During the lessons Rex’s appearance changes slowly into a man. Almost at the end of this transformation process a woman wearing circus like huge prosthetic legs approaches the three protagonists. She tells them that their attempt to transform a dog into a man is illegal and threatens to report them to the police. Bruce and Estelle ignore her. Only Rex becomes apprehensive that police may end his dream to become a full-fledged man. As physical transformation of Rex into a man becomes obvious, Estelle asks him to change his “fur coat” with a cardigan she knitted meanwhile. As expected, Estelle’s mom comes by one day and is pleasantly surprised by Rex’s transformation into a gentleman though she finds Rex’s declared passion for Estelle very disturbing. She runs out of the courtyard into the house with the pretext of taking a nap. Not long after that a group made out of four policemen and a priest and exhibiting a sturm-und-drang behavior push through the door and demand explanations about “the metamorphosis situation”. The priest is the one that reads the bible paragraphs that describe the human-dog coitus as being a forbidden sin. A “Scientific” policeman inquires about Bruce’s qualification to transform dogs into men. [more]
