William Curtis (11 January 1746 – 7 July 1799) was an English botanist and entomologist, who was born at Alton, Hampshire.
Curtis began as an apothecary, before turning his attention to botany and other natural history. The publications he prepared effectively reached a wider audience than early works on the subject had intended.[1] At the age of 25 he produced Instructions for collecting and preserving insects; particularly moths and butterflies.[2]
Curtis was demonstrator of plants and Praefectus Horti at the Chelsea Physic Garden from 1771 to 1777. He established his own London Botanic Garden at Lambeth in 1779, moving to Brompton in 1789. He published Flora Londinensis (6 volumes, 1777–1798), a pioneering work in that it devoted itself to urban nature. Financial success was not found, but he went on the publish The Botanical Magazine in 1787, a work that would also feature hand coloured plates by artists such as James Sowerby, Sydenham Edwards, and William Kilburn. Miss Ari spends her time at the stream. She sits hours in the thick woods there. The butterflies in beautiful colors and designs on their wings perch on the little plants. Beautiful birds are chirping. The moss is grown under the plants. Green grass is up to the knees level and it is fully grown. Beautiful colored bugs are there on the grass. The new leaves of the branches of the trees are so nice to look at. The moisture is everywhere. If you touch a leaf, the dew drops fall down.
Miss Ari sat under a tree very comfortably and looked in to the waterfalls. She was very happy looking at unnamed beautiful birds. She saw a small blue bird that came very near to her. She looked at her and sat motionless. The bird came near her, when there is no movement in her body. When she tried to touch her, the bird flew away from her nest. [more]

The Cuckoo Clock, by Mary Louisa Molesworth, is a British children’s fantasy novel published in 1877.[1] A small child and a cuckoo for a cuckoo clock become unlikely friends, when at night the clock transports her to magical places.
A young girl (Griselda) is sent to live with her two older aunts (Miss Grizzel & Miss Tabitha.) The house is large but in the room where she completes her lessons there is a very elaborate cuckoo clock. During one of her lessons Griselda gets very mad, thinking the clock is mocking her, and throws a book at the Cuckoo. The clock stops working, and the two aunts are devastated. Even though the clock seems to be silent, Griselda still hears it calling to her at night. She then decides that if the Cuckoo comes back at all she will catch him. In the middle of the night she goes to observe the Cuckoo. She then apologizes. When she does apologize the cuckoo comes to life and starts to talk with Griselda. The next day the Cuckoo is fixed. The next night however, the Cuckoo is calling to her again. The cuckoo asks her where she would like to go, she immediately responds with Fairyland. The cuckoo interjects that too many children have been there and that she should choose somewhere else. He suggests The Land of the Nodding Mandarin. She agrees. They journey to the land, and venture to see a palace and they get to nod at the king of the land, himself. After their journey she awakes in her bedroom, but she is still wearing the shoes that she received from the Mandarin land. Griselda then comes down with a cold, and instead of journeying to a land Griselda gets to look at pictures. The cuckoo hums her to sleep and she then receives different visions of her relatives. She also learns that her Grandfather is the one who made the Cuckoo Clock.
One cold night the cuckoo comes to her room and invites her to join him in the garden. Confused, Griselda says no. She then realizes that it might not be the garden that is just outside. She then runs to the clock trying to convince the cuckoo that she would like to go. She turns around three times and opens her eyes to Butterfly-land. They are invited to a high banquet by the king and queen of the butterflies. She learns that the butterflies are very hard workers and they gift her with a bit of their fragrance.
Some time passes and the young girl can hear the Cuckoo calling again. This time the call is actually for another little boy, Master Phil. Master Phil is a little boy of five and is searching for the cuckoo. He happens upon Griselda, and they talk of the cuckoo. He wants to find the Cuckoo so that he will be taken to fairyland. Griselda offers to teach him all that she knows. They play for the rest of the day and then plan on meeting the next day as well. The both aunts are not happy that there was a boy on the grounds. There were also not happy that Griselda played with him. She goes to sleep saddened, but is soon wakened up by her maid (Dorcas) to the good news that the two aunts [more]

I bet you did not know that there exist a land were little fairy doggies and cute cuddly pixie kitties do indeed live.
Yep, and they are so cute too. Buzzing around, all over the place. Little tiny barks that sound like little yelps. Even tinnier meows as they chase each other playfully threw the sky. Oh my and what a sight it is. To see these fairy creatures the size of butterflies and fire flies dancing threw the air. These precious little beings are of every breed known by non fairy doggies and non fairy kitties...
I am sure you did not know that I happen to be very good friends with one of these little guys. We go way back. His name is Benny. He is really funny too. What does he look like your probably wondering? Well he looks just like a collie and a pit bull mix. Yep, and that is what he is. He has black fur and a black shinny nose and little blue fairy wings.
The funny thing is his collie side is the side that takes full credit for all his good deeds. And the pit bull side is the side always getting poor Benny in a whole heck of trouble.
Did you ever see a cartoon were someone has two choices to make and then up pops two little versions of that persons self. One wearing all white with a little halo and seems like a real good guy. There on the other side is a little red person who looks like a real bad guy. The kind of guy you would never leave
anything of value like candy alone with this guy. Same idea. The collie always wants to be a good. Smell fresh flowers, help out his neighbors. The pit bull always wants to bite any and all who comes in nipping range. I guess you can say little Benny sometimes has a personality problem. [more]

The kingdom is threatened.
Who or what is ravaging the great forests is unknown.
One thing is known. The beasts come from the great mountains in the north; slaughtering everything in their way.
Rito Thelin is the second son of the King, who has little time for him. Rito has failed to find his brother, Gallan, lost in the northern woods.
Rito is sent out with only one retainer, Quirin, to try again. It is a hopeless task, his death all but assured. He carries one weapon. An ancient sword, named Fury. Nobody can read its ancient runes. If only Rito could.
On his journey he will meet Maesa, a young untested sorcerer. Maesa’s spells are prone to error with many an unforeseen consequence. She thinks it’s in the finger twiddles. Two men appear from the western trails. To say they are different in every way possible would be to stretch the meaning of ‘different.’ Tellen is a retired soldier of great experience wanting a quiet life. His companion is a haystack in human form, or so it appears. A giant of a man with phenomenal strength. They compliment each other perfectly. What can go wrong?
Unknown to Tellen, Totle has rescued the deadliest predator in the land. A huge animal that somehow moves with silence and speed through the surrounding forests. It has no natural enemies, none at all. But unnatural?
These three parties are fated to meet. They must blend together to form a band capable of facing down all dangers. All seems well enough until they find Suneth. A young lost child who needs rescuing. Suneth is sweet and innocent and happily accepted by the travellers. But she is in need of protection at a time when protecting themselves will be hard enough. One of them has seen Suneth dancing in the woods, surrounded by swarms of adoring butterflies. Why? Remains unanswered. None are what they seem.
Increasing horrors descend from the north. Some of the travellers may not survive.
Why should one of them wish to kill another member of the group, at a time when every living soul is needed?
The group will finally reach their final battle. They are asked to do the impossible. Turn around, go home would be the best advice to give.
