I read it. It looks very futural. And yet...who knows. It might be the future. Or simply a way to post and get hacked. As you said...need to wait to see where this leads to.
Personally. ..I feel that it's another way to be controlled by 'Big Brother'. First of all, using bitcoin seems to circumvent the government and their taxes system. Therefore, sooner or later they will jump into the game....and...that's where the 'control' will kick in.
Or....I'm just being a tad paranoid. ...lol.

No, you are correct in both assumptions. But not the paranoid part.

First, Bitcoin IS a way to get around not only the US government's way to collect taxes but also a way to get around the taxes imposed on digital purchases within certain US states and municipalities. As well as non-US governments that have placed taxes on digital purchases.

To me, and this is my personal opinion, it's sort of like pirating movies and television shows. When people go out of their way to avoid paying for a movie ticket or paying for cable or digital television or premium packages offered by groups like HBO or even Netflix (as they are now working hard to come up with quality shows and movies for consumers - the end result being better selections for consumers AND productions that are higher quality) because they either haven't got the funds to splurge- -After all, isn't food a tad bit more important than watching Game of Thrones on HBO? And I'm a HUGE GoT fan.--OR they feel like they're pulling a fast one over on big business.

Only they're not. Those big businesses will do just fine because consumers like me will, begrudgingly, pay higher premiums or spend more on a movie ticket to get the satisfaction of seeing it -- the right way.

BUT the lesser known actors, the crew, the periphery crew (craft services, animal wranglers, and local businesses) will suffer. Oh, and I left out one group who suffers when people try to have their cake, eat it, and then go back for seconds or third. It's the group that's kind of near and dear to my heart and maybe yours...the writers!

Looking at it in a broader way - when people go around their elbows to get to their asses all to save a little in taxes- those pennies add up to taking away from federally funded programs for things like infrastructure, education, and health and welfare.

Second, for writers, using Bitcoin-Ethereum-Blockchain-DigDen (digital denomination)-Cybercoin...if you can think of a way to say 'not backed by any insurable and thus not able to be prosecuted for fraud in a court of law because it is a caveat emptor venture source of income...that's what you can call it.

If I spend hour after hour writing and feel good enough if what I've written to put it on sale - I want to know that I'm doing everything legally. I'd hate to be that person the IRS decides to audit and not have any way to show that I paid my fair share in taxes because I wanted to circumvent the system. It'll only wind up costing me - NOT groups like this Publica site (which, remember isn't even a live site yet)

And it could cost me more than money. It's a form of tax fraud. People go to jail for that even if they didn't know what they were doing wasn't legal. That's why it's always important to do the research.

I knew when I joined BookRix.com that it was a NEW thing. I also knew that I didn't have to worry because I wasn't putting any money into it to join. AND I was able to make connections with other writers. To be honest, I let others test the waters with the online selling aspect here at BR before I ever tried it. I had to know I wasn't going to get screwed over.

Sure - it could happen. That's always a possibility. However, time and performance results are on the side of BookRix.

That's why I wanted to put out a 'please be weary' commentary because I do care about what happens to our members.

To me easy money in publishing doesnt exist. Ive been writing for years, got an agent, and im still struggling to get published.

If you start with a large fortune, it's easy to make a small fortune in publishing.

I would rather give my work away than pay to have it published.
