Note to Self: 'Delete' really does mean delete! My tale of woe...

(Um, you'll probably see this same discussion on a couple other boards as I'm a wee bit on the desperate side...so here's me saying 'Sorry if I'm being a pest' in advance...but when you've read my tale of woe, I think you'll understand)

Dear BookRixers,

:´-( I have a terrible tale of woe to share with you... About a week ago I was fiddling around with my Kissing 101 book--I was actually getting ready to put in the final edits before I put it on the market.

I went to my profile and saw a 'nothing' book I'd inadvertently created (it was a discussion response and I clicked the 'publish this post as a book' box instead of the 'Yes, my favorite quote should be shown in the thread' box.) So I decided I'd delete it. Cue the 'OH, NO! She's not going to say what I think she's going to say' music) :-o

I THOUGHT I'd clicked the stupid comment book when I actually hit the book I'd been working on for weeks. And when the little box popped up saying 'Are you sure you want to delete this book?' I KNEW it was the wrong book because I had caught a glance of it BUT instead of hitting the CANCEL button...yes, that's right, I hit the OK button like an absolute IDIOT!!! (In my defense, it was about 12AM and I was really tired)

And in that split sec right after I did it and just before the little box disappeared I felt my heart fall to the floor. :´-( (Incidentally, BookRix informed me that 'Yes, Avery, delete does mean delete FOREVER) Sooooo, now a week has passed and I've finally--FINALLY finished putting the book back on the server. But since I deleted the original, I also deleted my 10 hearts and the beautiful comments that went with it which bummed me out more than losing my work! :-/

And that's why I'm here...yes, I am pleading...nay, nay...BEGGING you guys and gals who were so kind to have read my book and gave it a mention via your comment to please go back and reread my book and return my little hearts where they should be.

Oh, woe! Woe and despair for my lost little hearts. I hope you'll hear my plea and help me out!

No matter what, hearts or not, I'm going to look at this positively. My cover is nicer. My pages look beautiful, seriously...they are SO pretty (so far as print can be) and those last little edits really helped polish it up.

I wasn't exactly sure where to 'let it be known' that I'd taken a walk on the 'Uh-oh! trail!' I figured someone would guide me in the right direction. HA!

But you'd better believe I'm going to make a redundant copy of my books here on BookRix...one for the public and one that only I can see because Lord knows I NEVER want that to happen again.

And I've made a vow to never work past 11:30 pm (let's see how long that lasts!)

An example of our indifference; a guy once asked me to lend him $10 for some train fare;I gave him only a Fiver instead. It hurt me as he missed his train and looked at me without accusing me for my part in his missing of that only train.

Even if the guy is a faker, we don't have to doubt him unless you see him daily and he is a registered abuser.

But we have our sixth sense to discern.

A beggar in tattered clothes once shoved a $10 bill in my hand as I was eating plain french Fries but that was all I wanted eat at that time. I returned him his tenner but it moved me.

We must share our gains for nothing we deserve on our own. :-)
