I saw the original story, starred Jack Warden. This has the same thought provoking idea, plus some details that enhance the depth of their relationship. What is the nature of a sentient being, friendship, and love? Is it limited to organic beings? Maybe we do not know for sure. He may be deluded, but if he is willing to live inside that delusion with his special companion, and he is happy, then what difference does it make?

Hello Darth Sus4n,
robottina finally got around to intercepting your "Eve" transmission, and is glad she did. Your programming logic was very sound, and you spoke the truth, because under special conditions robots can acquire human characteristics. Thank you for the recommendation. :)

I really can't take credit for this story. Though I did change a few things (like the ending) it was based on a Twilight Zone episode. Can't remember who starred in it, but was an awesome show that stuck in my memory bank.

Thanks a lot for the compliment olfaphilo. It's greatly appreciated. Only wish some agent would log on to this site to read people's stories. Who knows, they might like what we've written and sign us. Wouldn't we ALL like that?! =;-)

I can't take full credit for this story. It was inspired by an episode from the "Twilight Zone" - but I did change it somewhat from what aired. I wish I could give the author due credit, but I don't remember who wrote the story. Glad you liked it though. :D

I love scifi too. I can't take credit for "Eve" though. It was on twilight zone, but I changed the story a little. The main character was on an arid asteroid, not a lush moon - and the captain did shoot the robot in the end - and the guy did return to earth with them. Also,... Show more
