Strachana

By:
Strachana

They walk among us unseen, unrecognized. They look like us, speak like us, but are not us. Aliens from another planet, then? Ghosts? Inter-dimensional beings? No.

Dragons.

I don't know why, but I just saw this - thank you for your kind comment! There is, in fact, a sequel, but I haven't posted it yet.

I had only read the OCH part but I think that it is a really great start and this book is gonna be exciting

Thank you! I hope you like what happens next. I've had to devise an entire draconic language for this book - originally, I used the draconic available on line through the D&D sites, but since it's copyright protected, I had to come up with my own words. I still have to make... Show more

Thank you! I really appreciate that! Maybe I'll try publishing it one of these days, lol. There's a second part to this I haven't posted yet, but which I'm in the process of writing. It's the same family, but they've survived into the modern world, so it's about how they "walk... Show more

I really enjoyed reading this book. I do have to say that some parts could have been given more attention. Especially the danger parts that would make me sit at the edge of my seat :)

Thank you! And great observation. I've been trying to work on that, as a matter of fact, expanding those chapters and heightening the level of conflict. I wasn't sure that was the right way to go, but your comments have confirmed that it is. Thank you so much, and thanks for... Show more

This book was very well written and edited, though there are a few places where some things slipped through. All in all, it was a great book, and I look forward to the second part. (I assume there will be one because the last page says end of part 1). I have one concern though: The book doesn't have much conflict or problem/solution. Which is fine if it leads up to a second part with more conflict, but if left at that can... Show more

The chapter titles are words in the draconic language and simply mean "One," "Two," "Three," etc.

The biggest conflict I tried to convey was the danger they were in of being discovered and hunted. The bad guy who tried to get my main character eaten by the dragon at the beginning... Show more

Here are the editing slips I saw: Page 12; "an you have something...", Page 30; says the tree is still smoldering though it had been hit with frost breath, Page 32; a repeated paragraph, Page 102; "where I'gra-Nah is from, how he met him..." (this should be 'how we met him')... Show more

This is fantastic! Thank you! Off to make the changes now... (grin).

There is no word or group of words in any language dead or alive, to describe how much i love this book. Judy Colella you are an incredible writer and my role model. I hope to write a book as captivating as the one and only strachana.

I've just finished. I never read anything like it. You have caught the quiet magic of pure fantasy with easy reading and a sense of wonder at what next. It's pure magic.

This story was amazing. How you wrote it was simply heartwarming, exciting, and thrilling. My favorite part was, of course, the dragons.

One of your best books. Keep writing. You don't have to stop. You should write until you just cannot go on any further.

Oh, my! Thank you so much! There is in fact a second half to this story, and involves the descendants of the original characters who are living as shape-shifted dragons in modern America.

Deleted User

Really? I would certainly like to read that part. Is it out yet?

judycolella

No; it isn't quite finished. I had to stop to work on something closer to completion for publishing. It's definitely near the top of my list of books to finish, though.

good. will read.

judycolella

That's great! I'll let you know when I post it. ')
