The soundtrack is stellar. The snappy dialogue brings the characters to life and makes them all the more raw, real, and sympathetic. The strong, deeply descriptive situations help the reader to truly feel for the characters, their families, and their conflicts. This is a satisfying read and a compelling piece whose execution draws the reader in and holds him til the end.

Interesting take on the Left Behind idea. The story has an excellent opening but takes a "safe" approach to the drama with traditional and sometimes cliché conflict in the form of the character Slash and his henchmen. The opening dedication is a bit misleading I thought this was going to be about 9-11 not the apocalypse. That said I could see this as a mini-series on TMC - it's the Walking Dead without the zombies.

The Rock is about to shed his nice-boy image, and why not? He'll have to bulk up, though. The coming of the Samoan Satan needs to fill up the screen with more girth. Lone warrior, Adam Estes, lover and defender of all that is good will soon be taking it on the chin from the madman's fists. It's what saviors do. This is Mad Max in the Antebellum South.

Dystopian scenarios are all the rage, and there's good reason. Real life is full enough of rage against the current economic dystopia. And like the real-life one, this apocalypse is fairly benign. No scorched earth or Hunger Games. Just people ill-prepared to deal with real disruption. And hungry hordes are on the march as Atlanta collapses. The tidal wave is coming. No stopping it. Unless it is stopped - by Adam (cue music) Estes. He mounts up and digs in the spurs.

This straightforward tale would be easily adapted and filmed, and would probably be a moneymaker.
Weaknesses: 1) Trite dialog and treacly emotional scenes, especially with the wife. 2) stereotypes and predictable teen love. 3) Mystifying lack of rage when expected and mystifying presence of rage when not expected. 4) Typical revenge shot from the emotionally wounded son.

Strengths: 1) Filmable. 2) Standard film-style build-up to the showdown. 3) Family and community values exalted and triumphant.

All the cliches are here, and they're not necessarily problematic. "Independence Day" was a great film, after all!

It might seem like a long script with 110 pages but your excellent story line drew me in from the first page. Before I knew it, I was at the end having rooted for Adam & his family all the way to its neat conclusion.

Because of your excellent way with casting, direction and formatting, not forgetting the great choice of music, this script is as easy to follow as a well written book. Well done Glen, you have my vote.
